School Radio – Radio in the curriculum – where do I start – getting on air
Professional radio equipment for schools and education. Lean on what is used in the real world of radio
Internal Streaming
Your radio station can “stream” live content through your school network. Our solutions are provided with this feature, right out of the box. As soon as your studio is built, you can be ‘on air’ throughout the school, using your existing network infrastructure.
Internet or Online Streaming
Our Panther and Lion studio solutions come with 12 months online streaming, absolutely FREE. This means your radio station can be heard online, anywhere in the world. This is a great way to connect with your local community.
Public Address System
If your school has a public address system, your radio studio can be connected directly to it for broadcast. Perhaps you have speakers in your main or dinner halls, your radio stations output, whether live or recorded can be heard at any time, with the flick of a switch. If you don’t have a PA system, we can provide advice and installation services for this too.
Podcasting and Downloads
Your podcasts can be uploaded to your school website or VLE for download at any time as an MP3. The audio files can then be played back on any PC, MAC or personal audio device.
FM, AM and DAB Radio
Because our solutions are based on BBC and commercial radio systems, they can be connected to standard AM, FM and DAB equipment for broadcast. You might want to take advantage of an RSL (Restricted Service Licence) at special times of the year, such as the end of term. Ofcom are able to grant short term FM licences to any organisation (terms and conditions apply) to enable them to broadcast ‘on air’. We can help you with the simple application process and provide transmission equipment for this purpose when required. (you don’t need a transmitter all of the time, but we have a hire stock you can take advantage of).
