Sensory: “of or relating to those processes and structures within an organism that receive stimuli from the environment and convey them to the brain”
For some time now, we have been working on a new area of Special Media Projects and The Useful Media Company Limited.
“Sensory Division” is the culmination of some pretty extensive research into the profound effect sensory stimulation has on thoughts, memories and ultimately choice.
Applying sensory techniques, for example in areas where you wish to have a positive impact upon a sale, even influence the outcome can have astonishing effects.
Adding sensory triggers to your environment, be that a retail outlet, workplace, exhibition or training scheme really can make a difference. Using light, sound, scents and even temperature, results can be achieved that quite unbelievable.
If you would like to know how our “Sensory Division” can help you change perceptions, positively influence sales or create or evoke memory points, we look forward to talking to you.
Keep checking our website www.specialmediaprojects.co.uk for the new “Sensory Division” page, where more will be explained and our available services will be outlined. While the page is developed, please do get in touch to chat through our contact page.

Through the Young Carers Festival, it is not only the profile of Young Carers in schools that has been heightened. The message about Young Carers and their needs has been taken directly into the Houses Of Parliament, into the heart of the UK government its self. As part of each festival, MP’s and politicians, from the Childrens Minister to the Education Secretary get involved with our own version of question time. This gives them the opportunity to get to know some of the UK’s young carers and more importantly, for the Young Carers to tell those in power what they need to make their lifes better. Young Carers of all ages and backgrounds are given the chance to ask some very probing questions about care policy and what the current government is planning to do to to help.
So here we are, 13 years on and the festival gets bigger every year. Young people, now too old to attend the festival, come back to help as volunteers, simply because it is the place that they remember having the time of their lifes and want to share that with other young people in similar situations to their own. It is so hard to describe the atmosphere, no matter what the weather… it is nothing short of magical. From the amazing young people, the abundance of energy, the magic of seeing a young person change for the better in 3 short days.
