Need radio newsroom story management and studio playout software? That can capture the IRN stuff and publish your stuff to the web? Great… you need AirScribe. There are more expensive alternatives out there – but for just £495 (£99 for community, hospital & non-profit stations), you can use AirScribe at your station.
your local stories in date folders, with unlimited categories & author codes
Search for keywords in past copy – between dates, in all copy or just going back a few weeks
Publish your copy in the NewsML standard to your website or other external commodity
Create a bulletin and send the playlist to EncoDAD – or use the inbuilt audio player
Share copy with other sites (requires FTP server)
Edit screen shows talk-time duration & total time including audio
Preview audio (including IRN, if applicable) within the edit screen
Studio playout module
The studio playout module has 3 pages of 12 ‘carts’ – the playlist can be created at the newsdesk and loaded in the studio at speed.
Carts in the studio player can be set to “sequence”; allowing for the software to be used as a backup player for ad breaks, for example.
“Quick record” audio can be recorded into any slot – and an external audio editor launched from within the program, with audio reloaded after save.
A separate program runs to capture audio & text from IRN’s DFD system, if you have one, and inject it into the AirScribe file system.
